ACOHOF Rural Investment Fund - (ARIF Africa)
ACOHOF Rural Investment Fund (ARIF Africa) is an independent program under the Afoni Children of Hope Foundation (ACOHOF). The idea of a Fund for Microloans started in 2017 as ARIF-Africa and, ACOHOF the umbrella organisation, realised that to run the ACOHOF Family Farm School, the ACOHOF Community Radio Station were not enough to empower the impoverished and vulnerable population of the village Tatum.
In 2017, the Political Unrest and Violence in Cameroon's North-West and South-West regions stopped the continuation of our programs but not to our determination to help the most vulnerable. This was when we decided to extend the search for information that could help.
In 2019, the President of ACOHOF-Sweden went to Bangladesh to learn from the experience of the Grameen Bank. After this visit, the decision was taken to adopt the activities of Grameen but tune it to suit Cameroon. ARIF-Africa was started in Bankim because ACOHOF Offices, School and the Radio Station were forced to shut down, and the staff fled. Their landing was in Bankim, which had a similar community setting as Tatum.
Our offices are now in Bankim, an equally enclaved and impoverished village in the Andamaoua region of Cameroon.
We work together with ACOHOF and our school FFS so that our joint efforts can have the maximum positive impact on the villagers.
ACOHOF has always welcomed National and International Volunteers. As a volunteer, you can get involved in either of our activities – such as lecturing, sports mentor, music trainer etc., at the ACOHOF Family Farm School of Tatum or that of Bankim. Apart from that, you can work on programs for the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs), with our "Back to School with ACOHOF" Program, on Fundraising, or with the ACOHOF Rural Investment Fund (ARIF-Africa) etc.
Please let us know what you want or expect, and we will help you get the most of your experience. We are flexible when it comes to the Volunteer timeframe. So why don't you get to us now? Send us an email to firstname.lastname@example.org, and we shall surely agree on the terms.
