ACOHOF and MTN Foundation Partnership 

MTN Foundation has in recent years come to the assistance of disadvantaged school boys and girls in Tatum and Nkum Sub Division of the North West Region of Cameroon through the Afoni Children of Hope Foundation (ACOHOF). MTN Foundation graciously donated writing materials such as exercise books, pens and pencils, mathematical sets and school bags to underprivileged children in the community areas where they serve. This practice went on smoothly as ACOHOF also provided credible reports of the distribution exercise to the pupils and students in several schools and colleges. Due to the crises in the North West and Sout West regions of Cameroon, several schools and colleges in the affected parts were closed for about four years now, and many have not seen the four walls of a classroom since then. While some fled to neighbouring Nigeria, some fled to neighbouring regions in the French-speaking regions where life is going on. They have become internally displaced persons (IDPs). They away from their bases and rely immensely on the assistance of the MTN Foundations. They need help in their insertion into the new environments, integrate and continue school wherever they find themselves until such a time that they will be able to return home at the end of the crises. Hundreds of students and schools continue to contact us and request assistance. We remain hopeful and ready to answer a call or respond to an email from the MTN Foundation or other organizations for the interest and service to our disadvantaged young boys and girls.
